About the CompanyA leading housing developer with a national presence have a unique opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team. With almost three decades of successful trading behind them, this business are sat in a unique position, bringing a 100 acre site to market in Stoke. The land was acquired over ten years ago, and this developer are now building executive homes starting at £500k, with ten years of work and 1000 units ahead of them.
This site's totally unique design includes huge gardens, nature walks, a 5k running track and outdoor gyms for residents, a double garage and EV charging point as standard with every property, solar with every property, separate workspace/study rooms as standard with every property, and four car drive ways to accommodate plenty of off road parking. The site is attracting London commuters, cash buyers, and those downsizing with smaller mortgage borrowing, that has meant sales have remained strong in spite of challenging market conditions.
About The Role
As works progress on site, the business require an experienced Quantity Surveyor to take a lead on day to day commercial management of the various phases of development across this ten year development. Day to day duties will involve;

Preparation of subcontract Enquiry Lists, enquiry packs, and detailed tender analysis.

Preparation of detailed breakdown of build costs
*
Compiling of sub-contract Orders
*
Attending pre-start meetings, handover completed procurement pack to site team.
*
Ensure sub-contractor weekly and monthly applications for payment are analysed and checked.
*
Prepare interim payments
*
Draft Budget estimate summary for approval by the Head of Commercial.
*
Issue contra-charges as appropriate.
*
Keep Payment Record Sheets up to date following completion of each weekly and monthly payment run.
*
Highlight claims for additional works outside Budget Estimate Summary and report to Head of Commercial.
*
Settle all Final Accounts expediently after works complete.
*
Carry out monthly progress checklist on site for all sites.
*
Prepare sub-contract accruals.
*
Carry out cost and value reconciliation.
*
Agree costs with the Accounts Department.
*
Prepare Cost Value Comparison (Profit & Loss) notes.
*
Issue Variation Orders as appropriate.
About You
The ideal candidate will be operating at QS level currently and will be sufficient in the delivery of new build housing developments as lead surveyor. New build housing experience is essential experience required for this position. An established Assistant QS currently running their own sites or those currently working at Senior QS position will also be considered with industry leading salaries.
