The Role:

As the range of projects that we work on grow, so does our team! We're currently looking to hire a Senior Electrical Engineer in our R&D department at our coastal office in Weymouth. This role will provide electronic and electrical engineering design and development expertise into any ASMPT project.

A fundamental part of this role is the ability to adhere to processes, as well as constantly work to improve processes. There are various codes of conduct, and compliance with this is essential, as well as managing and applying safe systems of work. Within this role, it is also required that they will carry out CPD necessary to maintain and enhance competence.

You will:

* Create concepts for the development of actuator, sensor, PCs, control, regulation and communication assemblies and power supply units for printing machines and peripheral devices whilst ensuring compliance with the defined quality, cost, standards & schedule requirements.

* Provide specification of the electrical and electronic assemblies for printing machines and their modules.

* Develop concepts into detailed designs via the creation of the necessary development and manufacturing documents, ensuring design compliance with the defined quality, cost, standards, and schedule requirements

* Interpret and analyse module/system performance and contribute to determining critical success factors.

* Prepare communications/support, documents and reports on technical matters including the effectiveness of the designs, risk, safety, and life cycle considerations

* Conduct of and support for tests, test specifications & reviews on functional samples and prototypes

* Act as a design lead. i.e., Manage/contribute to project planning activities related to electrical design and delivery of tasks. Schedule activities, Set targets, and draft programmes and action plans

* Define the requirements of the electrical and electronic assemblies. To be developed together with other groups/departments in R&D, QM, Purchasing, Production & Product Management.

* Conduct sustaining activities on released series products

About You:

Were looking enthusiastic individual to join our team! A person who is comfortable working both individually and as part of a team.

You Will Have:

* Qualified to a degree or equivalent level (preferably in Electronic, Automation/Kinematics, Electrical or related discipline)

* Confidence in using the appropriate CAD systems (ePlan, FastCAD, Altium) & Team Centre

* Knowledge of the product creation processes

* Ability to work across disciplines with internal and external partners

* Ability to identify and solve, from first principles, unusual/ complex technical problems.

* Ability to manage own time and workload to deliver against agreed targets, set both on short-term and medium-term timescales.

* Ability to achieve goals/ objectives as an individual and in a team environment

* Ability to share own expertise, provide guidance, support, and motivate other team members ~ influential within own team

* Experience of successfully designing, developing, and testing electrical/ electronic devices from concept through to fully working production items.

* Comprehension of functional interdependencies in printing machines (Desirable)

* Able to communicate effectively face to face and in writing with people at all levels in an organisation (Desirable)
