Job summary

Our client is recruiting for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to work as part of an integrated team for the delivery of a first-class construction and maintenance service.

This is an important role in which you will:

Supervise and mentor Quantity Surveyors key measures and targets, including, the cost estimation process, preparation of contracts and review reports;
Manage and report on any budget, cashflow and procurement deviations;
Tender and negotiate contracts, estimating target costs and budget prices;
Ensure construction activities are performed on a commercial basis and generate surpluses;
Prepare lump sum bids and compile enquiry documents for competitive bidding;
Monitor the costs of projects by reviewing monthly financial forecasts against the actual costs;
Recommend adjustments for variations in costs and future expenses;
Update the monthly CVR, cost and commercial plans;
Ensure construction activities are performed on a commercial basis and generate surpluses in line with business plan expectations.
To be successful in this role you need:

Minimum 5 years' experience in a management/supervisory position;
Construction or Quantity Surveying qualification equivalent to NVQ Level 6;
An understanding of contractual requirements e.g. JCT and NEC Construction Contracts;
Experience of commercial Quantity surveying / Estimating;
Experience of using a computerised systems including programming software;
Considerable knowledge of Construction;
Demonstrable financial governance and commercial management experience;
Excellent project management skills;
Evidence of continuing professional development;
To travel independently to other venues;
Full UK or EU driving license
