Key Responsibilities:
Winning Work: Lead the charge in securing new projects by producing compelling tenders and cultivating crucial customer relationships.
Cost Estimation: Develop accurate cost estimates for materials, labour, and equipment based on detailed customer drawings and specifications.
Market Insight: Maintain a competitive edge by staying informed about current market prices and setting benchmarks for our solutions.
Collaboration: Work in tandem with the New Business Manager, aligning with company procedures, business strategies, and clearance requirements.
Customer Engagement: Play an active role in tender presentations and customer meetings throughout the bidding process.
Risk Management: Ensure all risk assessments and health and safety guidelines are followed, prioritising stakeholder safety.
Supplier Selection: Identify and engage with suitable sub-contractors and specialists to uphold our commitment to quality.
Teamwork: Collaborate seamlessly with Construction Managers, Planners, and the Design Team for efficient project delivery.
Documentation: Prepare detailed documents for senior management, highlighting cost calculations and project viability.
Knowledge Transfer: Facilitate smooth transition of bid information to the commercial and project operations teams.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Proven track record in pricing General Civil Engineering and Highways tenders.
A degree in General Civil Engineering or a related field.
Comprehensive knowledge of civil engineering and the construction industry.
Ability to price projects independently with minimal support.
Exceptional numerical and IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft packages.
Strong analytical skills for financial analysis.
Capability to perform under pressure and meet stringent deadlines.
Outstanding organisational and communication skills, essential for effective teamwork and stakeholder interaction.
