Job summary
Job Title:Registered ManagerResponsible to:Responsible IndividualPlus One specialises in providing residential care for young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties who can present challenging behaviour.Job purpose:You will have overall responsibility for day-to-day management of the home and are accountable for delivery of a high-quality provision, incorporating care,welfare, safety and security of all children and young people in your care. Supporting, leading and managing a team of staff who will provide protection and support the children with their physical, psychological, emotional and social development.Duties and responsibilities
Responsible for ensuring Health and Safety guidelines are adhered to in accordance with
policy and procedures.
Responsible for ensuring appropriate staffing levels are maintained within the home, liaising
with other managers and HR, and assist in interviewing new staff
Ensuring you and your staff work in accordance with the Statement of Purpose and ethos of
the home.
Demonstrate effective leadership to direct and support the staff team to deliver person
centred care working towards the best outcomes of each young person
Manage, supervise and mentor staff and conduct and record regular supervisions and
appraisals
Demonstrate a working knowledge, implement and adhere to and provide guidance to other
staff on Childrens Home (England) Regulations 2015 and any subsequent changes to
legislation
Demonstrate a working knowledge of Ofsted Inspection guidelines, promptly implementing
any recommendations following an inspection. Timely notification of any significant events of
changes within the home, including completion of Regulation 45 Reports within the given
timeframe.
To ensure you and your staff team implement and adhere to Plus Ones Safeguarding Policy
and Local Authority Safeguarding procedures
Working cohesively and in partnership with team members and other professional (Social
Workers, Police, Education and Health) to contribute and monitor the multidisciplinary
assessment of childrens needs, supporting children to reach their full potential as outlined in
their care plans and in accordance with Plus Ones policies and procedures, Local Authority
Instructions and relevant legislation
Ensure Local Authority Social Worker and Plus Ones Designated Safeguarding Lead are
notified of all significant events, important changes and physical interventions within 24
hours
Ensure young people receive care which best meets their individual social, racial,
psychological, educational, cultural, physical identity and health care needs according to the
Statement of Purpose and Plus Ones policies and procedures
Ensure children facing particular crisis and stresses are offered appropriate additional support
in a timely manner
Organising the availability and development of staff within the home and wider Plus One
homes, ensuring rotas are covered to meet regulations
Ensure the home is fit for purpose by ensuring Fire and Health and Safety Regulations are
met, Quality Assurance and Regulation 44 Reports action points are addressed promptly.
Appropriate records are kept and fire drill procedures are adhered to in accordance with Plus
Ones policies and procedure
Managing performance and development of your staff team by using regular supervision and
annual appraisal processes to promote a culture of self-awareness and understanding.
Mentor new starters during their probation period, inducting new staff into the home.
Working in partnership with HR to address and manage any issues of poor performance or
misconduct
Participate effectively in the out of hours duty system
Attendance at weekly Manager and monthly house meetings and implement any actions
agreed
Complete appropriate training including the level 5 diploma in Leadership and Management
within the required timeframes, ensuring an up to date training record is maintained
Representation to Local Authorities and panels, meetings and Strategy groups
Constantly striving to improve standards of care for the young people we support
To control costs efficiently and effectively within the agreed budget
Create an environment that promotes the dignity and respect of all, in which individual
differences and contributions are recognised and valued in accordance with Plus Ones
policies and procedure
Undertaking other duties as may be deemed appropriate from time to time
