Senior Quantity Surveyor Gloucestershire

We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a Design & Build contractor. As Senior Quantity Surveyor the role will involve overseeing all commercial responsibilities for a £20 Million, Design & Build project in Gloucestershire. The project has been negotiated with one their key clients and has a build programme of approximately 18 months.

Senior Quantity Surveyor role and responsibilities

Our client is looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor with experience of major construction projects - valued at £10+ Million. The company is one of the largest contractors in the UK with an annual group turnover in excess of £1 Billion. The business has been established for several years and enjoys an excellent reputation with both their clients and employees alike. The Senior Quantity Surveyor opportunity is for their construction division who undertake a broad range of projects including sectors such as commercial, education, healthcare and residential. Predominantly Design & Build, projects are typically valued at between £10 Million to £100 Million.

The Senior Quantity Surveyor position will be responsible to a Commercial Manager - working on all commercial aspects of the project including:

* Use of company systems and processes and applying best practice

* Subcontractor procurement from enquiry to order placement

* Manage subcontractor accounts from commencement or works through to negotiation and settlement of final account

* Prepare timely submission to client for payments

* Produce monthly Cost Value Reconciliation reports

* Liaise with and develop supplier and subcontractor relationships

* Manage risk throughout the project lifecycle

* Liaise with and develop client relationships

* Work closely with the Project Manager and operations teams

* Prepare all final accounts

Required experience

Successful applicants will have a proven track record of undertaking the role of Quantity Surveyor for a main contractor who undertake projects of a similar size and nature. In addition successful applicants should hold an HNC or degree level qualification in a construction discipline or be from a trades background.
