On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for an AWS DevOps Engineer for a 6 month contract. This role will be remote with a view to being based in Milton Keynes when their offices re-open.

As an AWS DevOps Engineer you will be responsible for:
Support the seamless deployment of applications and infrastructure using CI/CD
Build and maintain technology stack as appropriate to suit specific project and business needs
Manage code deployments, fixes, updates etc.
Update processes and design new processes as required
Offer technical support where needed, developing software for Back End systems and API's
Effectively manage and assign projects as necessary while lending support to rest of IT team
Establish, maintain and share team best practices
Lead the team through development and operations

We are looking for
A software engineer who takes pride in their craftsmanship and in the results that they deliver
Being a subject matter expert and taking on a consultative role as it pertains to AWS architecture and best practises
Setting standards and guidelines for AWS/PaaS Platform, from the deployment to the platform support, including Pipeline Automation, both of the code itself and the level of documentation
Help diagnose and solve issues when building/deploying onto AWS/OpenShift
Strong knowledge of Docker, Git, GitHub, Kubernetes, Scripting and Cloud Architecture.
Strong knowledge of core AWS services and AWS architecture best practices, AWS shared responsibility model and AWS security policies
Experience in other AWS services like ECS, EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, Serverless, DynamoDB, Kinesis, etc.
Experience using Terraform for deploying infrastructure as code in automated pipelines
Experience moving on premise workloads and data loads to AWS public cloud, including best practices for security, high availability, disaster recovery and multicloud exit strategies.
Ideally would have worked in implementing companywide cloud best practices
Experience with API development (REST), agile methodologies and TDD
Understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases
Santander will only accept workers operating via an Umbrella or PAYE engagement model.
