Job summary

As Technical Compliance Manager, you will manage; develop; maintain and improve quality systems ensuring compliance. This includes Quality Systems, Internal Audits, Industry Legislation & Customer Codes of Practice.

Ensure that internal Quality Management System (QMS) and Food Safety system on site meets all retailer requirements and technical standards
Establish and maintain a structured review process of industry, customer, and business codes of practice. Complete site Gap analysis against requirements and implement and co-ordinate actions where required and ensure the QMS is updated following such reviews and procedures are updated accordingly
Take an active role in implementation of requirements and advise and support technical team and wider site functions to maintain compliance
Establish or review and amend procedures as required by new customer codes of practice, new business initiatives or new internal systems. Complete regular reviews of new policies, procedures, guidelines and alerts and implement accordingly
Establish and maintain a process of horizontal auditing against the QMS to ensure compliance. Manage the Internal Audit programme and ensure actions are communicated and closed out within agreed timescales
HACCP Team Coordinator for site including co-ordination of meetings/recording minutes and maintaining HACCP action plan and associated documentation
Manage and oversee Technical Data Analyst team. Generate technical business KPI information, communicate, trend and highlight issues and support in resolutions. Develop and agree action plans

Degree calibre desired Relevant Food Science, Food Technology or Microbiological qualification
Food Hygiene level 4 or equivalent
Level 3 HACCP certified and Level 2 Health and Safety
Microbiological Training Level 3
Basic allergen awareness / practical knowledge of the management of allergens
Demonstrates experience of working with a retailer, expertise in interpretation of customer code of practice Competent in the use of customer technical databases
Demonstrates experience of maintaining an internal audit program
