Job summary
Red Snapper Recruitment on behalf of Wiltshire Police are recruiting for a Domestic Abuse Specialist Researcher.Do you have knowledge and understanding of Domestic Abuse Safeguarding legislation? We have an exciting opportunity for a Domestic Abuse Specialist to create, receive and review all Domestic Violence Disclosure Scheme Right to Know and Right to Ask applications for Wiltshire and Swindon. To undertake detailed research of Police systems and collate intelligence packages to facilitate the disclosure decision making process.
Working in the Public Protection Department, you will create, receive and review all Child Sexual Offence Disclosure Scheme (CSODS) applications for Wiltshire and Swindon. To undertake detailed research of Police systems and collate intelligence packages to facilitate the disclosure decision making process.
Wiltshire Police provides a 24-hour 7 day a week service therefore applicants should be prepared to be flexible in their approach to working hours.
The post holder should have access to a vehicle or be able to make alternative arrangements to meet the requirements of the post.

Main duties and responsibilities
Analysis and research
* To review all Domestic Abuse referrals and refer appropriate cases to the MARAC process.
* To review all Domestic Abuse referrals and refer appropriate cases to victim support agencies.
* To undertake detailed research by interrogating various Police databases including STORM, Force Intelligence systems, Force crime recording systems, Police National Computer (PNC), Police National Database (PND) checks and Violent & Sexual Offenders Register (ViSOR) and by contacting other force areas.
* To engage with partner agencies to obtain relevant intelligence for each application.
Risk Assessment and Decision Making
* To share relevant Police information and intelligence with partner agencies.
* To ensure police systems are updated and to review, retain and dispose of records and information adhering to principles of Management of Police Information.
* To analyse and evaluate all information connected to applications to determine its potential and to prepare accurate intelligence reports for the decision-making process.
* Share appropriate PPD1s with partner agencies.
Administrative support
* To input, retrieve and present data from Police systems in support of the Domestic Abuse Conference Call process.
* Maintain a record management system with regards to the DVDS and CSODS.
* Review, retain and dispose of records and information adhering to principals of Management of Police Information.
Liaison/ multi-agencies
* To liaise with partner agencies and identify specific points of contact to facilitate the DVDS and CSODS process.
* To be a Police point of contact for Police colleagues and partner agencies providing specialist advice on process.
Person Specification
Educated to GCSE Standard
Experience of working in a police service environment or similar
Experience of utilising different forms of software packages.
Experience in handling confidential information.
Experience in working in a busy office environment.
Experience of working under pressured time constraint conditions.
Previous research experience
Competent in the use of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
A good aptitude, ability and familiarity with computer systems in order to utilise them in the gathering of information.
High degree of problem-solving skills and organisational ability.
Ability to assess, evaluate and interpret information/intelligence.
Good communication skills verbal and written; ability to communicate effectively with a variety of individuals from different social and professional backgrounds.
Able to act in a confidential manner with sensitive information.
A high level of self-motivation and innovation.
To be able to work effectively in a team and contribute positively and constructively to team planning processes.
Ability to gather, check and evaluate information from a wide variety of sources in order to make the appropriate decisions and pass relevant information to appropriate personnel at local, Force or Regional level.
Ability to adapt to change of the working environment and working practices, and ability and willingness to keep abreast of changes in legislation and Force policies and procedures.
Understanding of the principles of spreadsheets/databases.
