Job summary
A Company Accountant is sought for an SME business in based in Bedale on a full or part time basis, our client is willing to consider anywhere between 20 - 37.5 hrs per week and there is flexibility on whether this hours are fulfilled as full or partial days.The company accountant will work in Tandem with one other to lead a small finance team and provide accurate financial information to the company's directors.
The ideal candidate will have worked in an SME environment, we are open to either qualified or qualified by experience applicants.
Your reponsibilities will include:
Monthly Management Accounts:
Prepare and analyze monthly management accounts for a business with a turnover of £20 million, providing valuable insights to aid decision-making processes.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data, adhering to relevant accounting standards.
Accruals and Prepayments:
Oversee the production of accruals and prepayments, ensuring that financial records accurately reflect the financial position of the company.
Bank Reconciliation:
Conduct in-depth bank reconciliation work, meticulously verifying and resolving discrepancies to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
Accounts Receivable:
Regularly review accounts receivable, monitoring outstanding invoices and coordinating with relevant departments to ensure prompt payment and resolution of any issues.
Fixed asset Register:
Maintain the fixed asset register, including accurate recording of acquisitions and disposals.
Perform depreciation calculations in accordance with accounting policies.
VAT Returns:
Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and timely submission to relevant authorities.
Stakeholder Communication:
Act as the point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including banks, external accountants, and the Managing Director.
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to address financial queries and provide necessary information.
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000
This will be an office based role at our clients premises in Bedale, North Yorkshire.
