Job summary
Techniche Global are supporting an international Oil & Gas Technology and Engineering specialist to appoint an Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer who will direct, coordinate, Engineer and manage the E&I aspects of Metering, Sampling and Blending Systems. You will work alongside Project Engineers and has the responsibility for the definition of the electrical design and instrument specification of assigned projects. You will ensure on-time delivery while working within project budget to meet or exceed the customers requirements as stated in agreed specifications and applicable project standards.Rate: £50-£55p/hr UMB
Location: Home Based with occasional visits at Tunbridge Wells (every 6-8 weeks)
Duration: 12 months initially
Tasks & Responsibilities:
Working to company procedures and work instructions for the supply of Custom Designed Skid based Systems (Projects) engineered out of the Tunbridge Wells facility.
Ensures that Customer requirements are evolved into a deliverable product or system.
Handling any allocated contract from initiation to completion. Development and verification of electrical designs and instrument specifications to provide the lowest cost solution, meeting agreed specifications and applicable standards.
Generate technical requisitions to ensure that instruments (Pressure , Temperature, Flow etc) on the system meet the demands of the agreed specifications and performance within that system.
Generate sub vendor scope packages for E&I aspects of project.
Provide direction and support to Electrical designers to generate key project design documentation such as Electrical Block and Interconnection Wiring Diagrams, P&ID, Electrical Hook Ups, Cable and Utility Schedules.
Working with Companys Project Management to provide technical input into the project schedule, define project tasks and resource requirements.
Attendance on site or in factory to monitor phases of production and fabrication as required. Work with the Companys Quality team to provide technical input to the Inspection and Test Plan.
Support preparation/completion of all project documentation required in the Supplier Data Requirements List as agreed at the start of the project.
Provide input to generate a suitable Factory Acceptance Testing procedure document, assist test engineers with Factory Acceptance Testing as required.
Ensure adequate hand over to the commissioning engineers to ensure that the system as installed on site performs as required.
Support the sales team to provide design and technical expertise and ensure accurate proposals, control expenditures within limitations of project budget.
Provide Mentoring and Development of less experienced engineering team members.
The role may require practical technical support for equipment being manufactured in the factory, before, during or after installation on site.
Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. Additional responsibilities as required.
Knowledge and Experience:
Engineering Degree or HND and related field experience highly desirable
Prior experience of electrical design and instrumentation specification for skid mounted electro-mechanical systems for the oil & gas industry.
Previous experience with one of the following system types; metering, sampling, or blending systems. Experience of specification of Electrical equipment in Hazardous areas to ATEX or IECEX
Experience of Electrical installation in compliance with BS 7671:2018 and instrumentation installation to BS 6739:2009.
Experience of CAD package such as AutoCAD.
Knowledge of Metering supervisory control systems with respect to integration with Metering and Sampling systems.
Knowledge of Gas Analyser packages with instruments such as Gas Chromatographs, Water Dew Point Analysers, and Hydrogen Sulphide Analysers.
Knowledge of Metering & Proving standards (API & ISO) Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project)
Able to work within an ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Management System. Strong communication skills at all levels
