Approved company providing building control for all types of commercial and domestic projects. Our client handle everything from initial notice, plan checking and site inspections through to final certificate.
Job Purpose
To support our clients ambitious growth plans, we have a great opportunity to join our Building and Real Estate Division. Our client is the market-leading independent provider of Building Control, and we pride ourselves on being the experts and leading authority on building controls within the industry.
Were looking to hire a Regional Director to support this growth. With a significant portfolio, from small specialist projects to some of the largest opportunities in the country.
This scope and size mean my client can offer you the chance to live and work locally while also supporting and delivering some of the UKs most prestigious projects.
To provide a quality service by providing efficient and effective management of local resources with regard to Approved Inspector operations in line with the companys aims and objectives and the Building (approved inspector etc.) Regulations 2010 and amendments thereafter
Responsibilities
* To manage the smooth operation of the region and offices within the region.
* To work towards regional and company financial targets and objectives.
* To ensure all company standards are adhered to in order to provide an exceptional customer service.
* To manage the smooth operation of the offices for which the Regional Director has a responsibility.
* To work towards the allocated company and regional financial targets.
* Participate in interviews for new staff as appropriate.
* To give support, supervision, training and guidance to an allocated team.
* To undertake and assist with the appraisal and evaluation of technical staff
* Approve annual leave and expenses for allocated team.
* Manabe the analysis of workload within the regional team.
* Responsibility for the operational control of the customer base of an allocated team.
* To develop business opportunities and market the services offered by the company.
* To be fully conversant with all relevant legislation and ensure that procedures are updated accordingly.
* Maintain a portfolio of projects for a client base.
* Vet all new commissions/plans to ensure compliance with Building Regulations and associated statutory legislation.
* Carry out or oversee all relevant inspections on site to ensure compliance with Building Regulations and associated statutory legislation
* Provide technical advice and guidance to clients, i.e., architects, builders, etc. on building control matters.
* Consult with the Fire Authorities and other statutory bodies as necessary.
* To follow the Building Control policies and procedures with respect to the building control services.
* Ensure records and filing are maintained to ensure the Companys Quality Procedures, service levels and contractual requirements are being met.
* To communicate effectively (verbally, written, electronically) to meet the job purpose.
* Undertake other duties, within the competence of the post holder, as may be reasonably required from time to time
Experience / Skills
* We would love it if you have full membership of professional organisations: MCABE, MRICS, MCIOB
* 12 + years relevant BC experience, plan check and site inspections and relevant warranty, quality or defect resolution experience ideally with residential and commercial.
