The role of Internal Auditor aims to safeguard company assets by providing an effective and efficient internal audit service to retail operations and distribution centres within the company. As a valued team player you should have experience of working within a similar role, processing high volumes, working well under pressure both as part of a team and on your own initiative, with high accuracy and an organised approach.
Primary Responsibilities
* Conducting risk assessments on key business activities within stores and warehouses, using this information to guide the areas covered in audits by creating a checklist for standardised assessments.

* Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures and regulations, where applicable, to stores and warehouses.
* To give input, by way of advice and training, where poorly operated systems highlight a breakdown in control.
* Gathering and analysing data from till and web transactions to identify risks and fraud.
* To carry out investigations where breaches of procedures appear to have taken place, and the company has been exposed to loss. Report these to retail operations and H.R. and offer support for them to take the next steps.
* To provide effective internal audit assessment of company stocktaking procedures and controls in shops and warehouses. Liaising with external audit where necessary.
* To monitor the movements of stock to minimise loss to the company.
* To plan and be responsible for the successful delivery of the annual stocktake programme.

* High level of autonomy.
* Degree of flexibility with travel, as the successful candidate is field based, with regular meetings at Carlisle Head office and travel throughout the North.
* Should have worked on computerised accounting systems and possess good MS Office skills including Excel.
If you feel these qualities describe you, then we would like to hear from you.
