East Anglia, Scunthorpe and Fife
MC Technical Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Project Engineer, to provide technical support across a fleet of biomass power stations across the UK ranging from East Anglia to the Fife area in Scotland.
Based at your nearest site the Mechanical Project Engineer will be responsible for delivering technical support and engineering solutions across all 5 stations.
As the Mechanical Project Engineer you will be responsible for:
Providing expert engineering advice to the O&M teams to ensure safe and reliable operation of the assets with specific focus on rotating plant and boiler systems
Deliver and assist with projects undertaken by the site O&M teams, managing project schedules and ensuring plans meet business requirements
Providing technical support on all engineering issues across the fleet of plants
Assist with the financial control of projects through accurate budgetary proposals and delivery
Assisting in the preparation and supervision of mechanical maintenance work carried out during rotating equipment overhauls
Identify risks to the business generating and delivering mitigation proposals
To be considered for this role you should have:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in a mechanical engineering function in the power generation sector (CCGT, CHP, EFW, biomass) or similar (steel, chemical etc)
Ideally a degree in mechanical engineering or similar relevant discipline. Minimum expectation would be a HNC level
A thorough understanding of engineering and maintenance principles associated with mechanical equipment including turbines, pumps, boilers, compressors and other rotating plant etc.
A good understanding of power generation legislation such as PUWER, LOLER, PSSR etc
Project management experience would be useful but not essential
A full UK driving licence is essential for this role as travel to other sites is required
