Job summary
To provide excellent paraplanning support for our team of Financial Advisers. This also entails occasional participation in client meetings and helping to formulate financial plans and strategies as well as report writing.The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years working within the financial services industry preferably within an Independent Financial Adviser environment and will have spent some of this time working as a Paraplanner, however consideration will be given to candidates who feel they can strongly demonstrate competence in this role and who have a good understanding of the financial planning process and associated compliance aspects. Candidates will be considered, from a Financial Planning Administration background, for example, who are looking for the opportunity to progress into a Paraplanner role.
Previous experience of conducting product market research, producing suitability letters / report writing is advantageous. The ability to use technical financial planning tools, financial modelling, and back-office systems, such as Intelliflo Office or similar would also be of benefit.
Specific tasks include:
* Support Financial Advisers with research and analysis to meet client needs and objectives.
* Provide technical support to the Financial Advisers ensuring advice is suitable and compliant with FCA (Financial Conduct Authority) rules.
* Maintain a good understanding of products across the UK marketplace.
* Review and update Fact Finds thoroughly to ensure all information to provide basis of advice is available, in a clear format and correct.
* Review the accompanying recommendation instruction to ensure it is suitable to the client's needs and objectives, meets the client's risk profile, is affordable and that the instruction is completed in full checking for errors and omissions.
* Prepare Financial Plans / Reports and Suitability Letters in the appropriate time frame along with accompanying documentation to support the recommendation and justify the provider and product suitability.
* Provide Reports and Suitability Letters with accompanying documentation to Financial Advisers with any specific notes that may help when presenting to clients.
* Prepare cashflow modelling reports to assist with client retirement planning.
* Assist with client meetings when required, including taking notes and following up on any actions required.
* Prioritise your own workflow to meet deadlines.
* Contribute to the review, enhancement and streamlining of paraplanning processes, systems, and procedures to increase efficiencies in the team.
* Comply with FCA (Financial Conduct Authority) and compliance rules.
* Any other duties as may reasonably be required.
