Job summary

As part of our ongoing growth plan, we are seeking a driven, Multi Skilled Engineer with an electrical bias to join our team.

As a Multi Skilled Engineer you will provide effective electrical and/or mechanical services to the factory equipment. You will ensure that fault diagnosis and breakdown on all production process equipment, despatch equipment, and electrical systems are carried out in an efficient manner to minimise downtime.

Working hours as a Multi Skilled Engineer will be predominately Monday - Friday 8.30am - 5.30pm although some flexibility will be required to meet business needs.

Salary Circa £40000-d.o.e.

Key Responsibilities Multi Skilled Engineer:

Carry out preventative maintenance works on all production process equipment, despatch equipment, cookers and electrical systems, including electrical cabling and wiring to control equipment in accordance with established schedules
Carry out miscellaneous work of an electrical/mechanical nature as detailed in the Quality Management systems document
Responsible for installation of conduit, wiring and cabling systems
Conduct repairs/replacements of power distribution equipment
Conduct repairs/replacements of electrical control equipment
Responsible for the removal and installation of pumps and motors
Carry out electrical isolations on production equipment and systems in accordance with company procedures
Monitor and adjust process equipment to optimise its performance in accordance with production requirements and quality assurance standards
Carry out minor modifications to process equipment as directed and assist in installing new equipment as appropriate
Confident in carrying out mechanical break down repairs in a timely manner
Identify spare parts, equipment and materials required to minimise downtime
Ensure all the tasks undertaken are recorded on the engineering maintenance system
Complete other duties as and when required ensuring that the company meets its objectives
Supervision and management of contractors when requiredPerson Specification Multi Skilled Engineer:

Experience of working as an Multi Skilled Engineer, ideally in an FMCG environment
Desirable 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
The ability to read advanced electrical/mechanical drawings on new machinery
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in an Electrical Engineering Qualification
Experience of completing electrical Engineering requirements
Experience of working in confined spaces or working at height are desirable but not essential
Good mechanical skills
