Overview:
My client are currently seeking a Grounds Maintenance operative to join their team in Abingdon, covering one large static site. As a Grounds Maintenance operative you will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of outdoor spaces, ensuring they are safe, aesthetically pleasing, and in compliance with relevant regulations.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine grounds maintenance tasks, including mowing, edging, pruning, weeding, and leaf blowing, to ensure the cleanliness and attractiveness of outdoor areas.
Carry out planting and landscaping activities, such as installing flowers, shrubs, and trees, to enhance the overall appearance of the grounds
Conduct regular inspections of the grounds to identify and address issues, such as damaged fences, walkways, or irrigation systems, and promptly report them to the supervisor.
Operate and maintain various gardening and landscaping equipment, such as lawnmowers, trimmers, chainsaws, and irrigation systems, ensuring they are in good working order.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including completed tasks, materials used, and hours worked.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Provide excellent customer service by responding to inquiries, resolving complaints, and addressing any concerns from residents or clients in a professional manner.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to coordinate and prioritise tasks efficiently.Qualifications and Requirements:
Previous experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, or a related field is preferred but not essential
A valid driving license is required.
Physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks in various weather conditions.
Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work well within a team and interact with clients.
Basic record-keeping and organisational abilities.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to grounds maintenance.
