Position: Property Acquisitions SurveyorLocation: Field based with weekly meetings at their HO in Carlisle, depending on business needs

Our client, one of the UKs leaders in the retail sector, with over 100 stores nationwide, is offering an outstanding employment opportunity to work within their business.
As a result of growth, they are looking to recruit a Property Acquisitions Surveyor who will take overall strategic responsibility for the group wide acquisition of the companys property portfolio in line with the companys expansion programme and the identification of potential opportunities for adding and extracting value and profit.
Key Responsibilities: -
* Oversee the performance of the New Stores Team
* Take responsibility for the acquisition of new stores, negotiating and agreeing the location, rent and size of properties. Essential to this task is sound managerial judgement to negotiate final costs
* Presenting opportunities to Directors to gain approval for the selected stores and make recommendations, as appropriate
* Be responsible for appointing external consultants in relation to professional issues. Thereafter maintain regular liaison, instructing and managing their performance and agreeing remuneration levels
* Identifying opportunities in new stores for subletting surplus space and thereafter for ensuring that these deals happen to time and budget
* Identifying opportunities to acquire new businesses to add to the group portfolio. Presenting such opportunities to the Directors and undertaking property due diligence
* Identifying and exploiting development opportunities for the business where one off profits can be achieved at the same time
* As part of the store site selection process, undertake extensive travel, wherever the need exists
* Assume accountability for the preparation of the property administration cost control and budget
* Any other ad-hoc duties as required.
Candidates background and experience: -
* Previous experience working in property acquisitions in Retail High Streets and Shopping Centres
* Background working for a national retailer in the property sector.
* Degree in Estate Management/ Building Surveying/MRICS/Chartered Surveyor
* Fully prepared to travel nationwide and be present in HO on bi-weekly basis.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Results orientated and can-do approach.
* Personable & enthusiastic.
* Full/Clean UK Driving Licence.
