We are now looking for an Equipment Engineer to join our night shift team here at Nexperia Newport.What an Equipment Engineer will do
You will be joining as a key member of the Production Engineering team and will work on sustaining and troubleshooting a variety of high-tech semiconductor manufacturing equipment. This role supports the site operations by ensuring the availability of our complex manufacturing tools that enable us to produce tens of thousands of semiconductor wafers each month. This is a great chance to develop your skills in high tech and complex semiconductor manufacturing toolsets, whilst offering a variety of in-depth training during your career at Nexperia.
This position is on a Front-End Night Shift pattern which consists of three or four 12-hour shifts over a week. These shifts include Sunday, Monday, Tuesday (week1) and Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday (week 2) with 3 or 4 days off per week. (You will be a paid an additional 50% shift allowance for this shift pattern)
Key responsibilities will include
As a Shift Equipment Engineer, you will get the chance to work in the site Vacuum cleanroom area with high tech tools up to the value of (£5 million). This position provides you with a fantastic opportunity to build upon your existing equipment maintenance and troubleshooting skillset with a chance to work your way up to tool owner status within the team. Nexperia Newport is the UKs largest semiconductor site and can provide you with a variety of rare and high-tech toolsets to work with to build your skillset.
You will:
* Sustain (PM) and troubleshoot equipment during shift hours
* Provide technical guidance to Shift Equipment Technicians
* Manage the first level of corrective action recovery plans to Out of control equipment situations
* Conduct and direct equipment experiment/improvement actions and projects
* Support manufacturing the shift by providing assistance and training in their specific areas
* Organize and provide documentation and procedures for basic equipment checks
* Interface with Day Shift Engineers (equipment and process) and manufacturing on line issues
* Review, write and maintain procedures on equipment maintenance
What our Shift Equipment Engineers will need:
Essential skills required:
* Further Education, Degree qualified or equivalent experience
* Experience in maintaining equipment within any (light) engineering background
* Experienced in driving continuous improvement activities and projects for assigned measurables
* Highly motivated, results orientated customer service orientated, strong teamworking and communication skills
* Ability to empower and listen to others
* Ability to work Night shifts on a two-week rota basis
Desirable skills include:
* Implant and PVD Applied and Axcelis Implant tools, Applied Endura, Tel Nexx and FXP
* Detailed knowledge of wafer fab manufacturing equipment and systems in-depth electrical / electronic and mechanical knowledge
* Strong training skills and technical familiarity with product and equipment
* Wafer fab experience
* Familiar with all modern manufacturing concepts such as; JIT, KANBAN, Zero Defects, SPC, TQM and TPM
