Job summary
We need an AWEsome Finance Specialist (Statutory Reporting & General Ledger) to support with delivery of technical and financial activities within our Finance team at AWE.Location: Hybrid and flexible working, with our offices based in Berkshire between Reading, Basingstoke and Newbury with onsite parking and public transport services.
Salary: Starting at £33,700 up to £43,000 if you can dazzle us with an array of AWEsome reporting and system skills and experience.

A typical day for a Finance Specialist (Statutory Reporting & General Ledger) could look like this:
Supporting the preparation of the Annual Report & Accounts (AR&A), compiling the backend data, liaising with the relevant business contacts for information, casting, checking figures and references flow through.
Supporting the Finance Manager in the ESG/TCFD reporting in the AR&A.
Supporting the timely and successful completion of the AWE annual audit activity by seeking required information from the relevant business contacts, managing upload of responses to the auditor's online system, and running reports as required by the auditors.
Assisting with processing to identify leases under IFRS accounting standards, including liaison with contract managers, report production and balance sheet reconciliations.
Compilation of the Related Parties activity in support of the AR&A.
Support the preparation of the MOD ALB and other related submissions as required.
Posting monthly/routine journals as required.
Routine investigation and rectification of current and historic variances between the Projects and General Ledgers.
Supporting the continuous process improvement activity, including updating of relevant process documentation as necessary.
Ensuring integrity of financial information.
Building great relationships with stakeholders.
We would like you to demonstrate or have experience of:
Completed or currently studying a professional accounting qualification essential (i.e., AAT, ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
Proficient in Excel to minimum of intermediate level.
Process compliance.
Experience of using best practice financial management processes, tools, and techniques.
An understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is essential.
Experience of financial accounting work essential.
Effective communication and team working.
Experience of developing stakeholder relationships.
An analytical mind including good attention to detail.

This job role is suitable for hybrid working, which is an informal, non-contractual and voluntary arrangement, blending a balance of attendance in the workplace (your permanent duty station) and working from home as a personal choice. The successful candidate is required to carry out all their duties from a UK location and cannot do so from an overseas location at any time.
