Job summary
RoleOur client, a thriving M&E Contractor with multiple offices throughout the UK, is looking for an experienced, M&E biased, Senior Commercial Manager with experience of working with and developing multi-disciplined engineering and finance teams.
Reporting to the Managing Director, the person will provide exceptional commercial advice to the operational leads to drive revenues, improve forecasted profit margins and be responsible for implementation of commercial risk management through project review procedures and contract negotiations.
Responsibilities
* Health and Safety leadership
* Provide pre and post commercial advice/support to the operational teams across the division.
* Support the operation teams in providing a customer focused service and attaining the highest standards of operational delivery to maximise projects profitability and minimise risk.
* Support the projects by providing advice and feedback in the promotion of best commercial practices.
* Builds and maintains high level mutually beneficial and strategic customer relationships.
* Provide support to all business development/focus win activities in line with the Companys procedures.
* Support the teams to evaluate risks and opportunities
* Influence the bid reviews
Financial Performance
* Be influential in the maximisation of profit margins.
* Liaise with operational and finance colleagues to ensure that work in progress and debt levels are not allowed to build up in the business undetected.
* Manage and/or produce final accounts and any necessary claims.
* Review and interrogate Cost Value Reconciliations/Contract Reviews. Work effectively with the project teams in the early identification of cost overspend to minimise profit leakage.
* Work with the operational leads for the formulation of monthly forecasts and budget reporting.
* Take a leading role in resolution of contractual disputes.
* Ensure that all contract documents are thoroughly reviewed and properly executed in line with the Companys procedures, prior to project commencement.
Sub-Contractor Management
* Review subcontracts and provide advice and support to the operational team such that subcontracts reflect the contract specific requirements in addition to the company standard terms.
* Support a team of project managers and engineers. Promote and install good commercial principles in everything that they do.
* Mentor and develop the operational team and undertake commercial training as and when required.
Candidate Profile
* You will be educated to a degree standard within a relevant industry qualifications although applications by people qualified by experience is also encouraged.
* Experience within the M&E sector is required
