It is Benchmarks absolute pleasure to be representing SCCCC as they recruit two Good Neighbour Scheme Coordinators to join their brilliant team. One role is permanent, one role is to cover maternity leave until March 2025. We are particularly passionate about recruiting for SCCCC, they are a wonderful Sheffield, and Doncaster based charity who support the needs of vulnerable, and older isolated people in our communities. The Good Neighbour Scheme is a befriending voluntary service where service users are matched to volunteers who offer them support, friendship and company.
The successful Good Neighbour Coordinators will work collaboratively with service users and volunteers to make perfect matches to ensure there are fewer lonely people in our community.
This will be a varied, people focussed role that is well suited to candidates that have previously worked with older people, within healthcare, charity or in a people-focussed role.
The Good Neighbour Coordinator will take referrals from health and social care partners, Care Managers, GP practices, friends and relatives and sometimes self-referrals.
This fantastic role will be super varied and will include the following roles and responsibilities;
* Working closely with the Good Neighbour team, and other internal teams to take referrals
* Following up and reviewing all referrals
* Handling enquiries from service users, their families or volunteers
* Attending home visits prior to the allocation of a volunteer to ensure all personal details are confirmed, perform a risk-assessment and ensure full understanding of their needs
* Provide telephone support to service users
* Arranging monthly visits with service users that have complex needs
* Providing support to volunteers who volunteer on the Good Neighbour Scheme
* Supporting the team with the Pen-Pal scheme and ensuring post is distributed to service users
* Liaising with the Fundraisers to ensure donations to SCCCC are maximised
* Participate in continuous training and development
* Ensuring accurate records are maintained at all times
* Providing support and cover to the Team Managers when required
* Other duties as directed by management, Trustees or the team
We would love to hear from candidates that have the following skills and experience;
* 2 years + experience working in a similar role or organisation
* Experience working within the community
* Understanding of health and social care (advantageous)
* Good understanding of the needs of older people
* Exceptional communication skills face to face, telephone and email
* Highly professional
* Self-motivated and committed to doing a brilliant job
* Confident using IT
* Full driving licence and access to a vehicle
* Ability to work under pressure
* Excellent people skills and ability to build rapport with a range of people including service users, volunteers and internal staff
* Good educational background 5 GCSEs (degree would be advantageous but not essential)
