Location: Winchester (hybrid arrangement after training period)
Pay: £14 per hour
Duration: 2 months with possible extension
Hours: 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday
Tate are currently looking for an Accounts Assistant to support several of our clients' offices specifically within Sales Ledger. This successful candidate will have previous experience and be able to self-start and have some previous experience. This position will play a crucial part in supporting the Finance Manager and Financial Controller in managing the financial operations of the organisation. The primary responsibilities of the Sales Ledger Administrator will include supporting the maintenance of the sales ledgers, purchase ledgers, and treasury functions, as well as providing support for the preparation of management accounts.
Essentials
Experience of sales ledger, purchase ledger, nominal ledger postings, accruals & prepayments, and bank reconciliations.
Strong working knowledge of Excel. Excellent communication and organisational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail. Experienced in working to deadlines.
Strong sales ledger experience.
Able to use own initiative to work autonomously and to work effectively as part of a team.
Excellent and confident communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to network at all levels. Desirable
Experienced SAGE user
AAT qualified or any professional qualification in Finance or Degree in Accounting/Finance
Familiar with NHS and/or local authority funding streams
Knowledge of Open Accounts package Responsibilities
Setting up accounts for new customers
Creating routine invoice instructions and generating regular monthly fee invoices and statements in preparation for the start of each month
Raising invoices
Working with customers to monitor any changes to their needs that may impact their fees.
Finalising fee accounts when the customer leaves
Generating direct debit collections
Posting bank payments and identifying any discrepancies with payments expected
Reviewing the aged debtors report and chasing any unpaid invoices
Communicating any changes to funding between customers and third parties
Liaising with the finance manager over any unpaid debts and escalating any concerns
Input purchase invoices onto the Ebis system.
Scanning invoices for internal offices
Support production of twice monthly BACS and cheque runs.
Reconcile supplier statements.
Deal with invoice queries including suppliers chasing payments.
Weekly reconciling of bank accounts as directed ensuring that bank statements correspond to system records.
Processing credit card transactions onto the system and ensuring receipts are received for all transactions.
Processing sundry payment runs, as necessary.
