Job summary
Job descriptionTradebe are looking for a Site Chemist for our expanding team at Fawley, Hampshire.
To perform all duties in accordance with Legislative requirements and the Company's objectives, maintaining and improving performance in the areas of Safety, Quality and Environment.
To liaise closely with the Customer Services, Technical Assessment, Laboratory, and other Operational departments to ensure smooth and efficient operation.
To evaluate incoming streams and allocate disposal route, safely, effectively and without adverse environmental effects.
We offer
£28k to £31k p/a.
10% bonus p/a paid quarterly.
Monday to Friday, 37.5-hour week
25 days holiday plus 8 Bank Holidays.

The person
Degree, or equivalent, in Chemistry or a closely related subject
Knowledge of H&S and Environmental legislation as related to the Company's activities.
Chemical problem-solving skills
FLT licence (desirable)
IOSH Managing Safety (desirable)
The role
Ensure that all activities on Site are carried out with the highest regard to safety in line with Company Safety Policy, legislative requirements, and written procedures and work instructions.
Report all incident and/or injuries on site as stated in the Incident/Injury Procedure.
Ensure high levels of housekeeping on site are maintained.
Reception of bulk tankers & non-bulk wastes, checking and completing documentation/Consignment notes, identifying hazards and precautions
Checking, sampling and routing non-bulk wastes
Allocating storage in line with Site Storage Philosophy and updating of stock control systems
Amend and/or prepare process programmes for High Temperature Incinerator
Prepping & processing priority & problematic hazardous wastes
To liaise with Operations, Management, Laboratory Staff, Technical Acceptance Department, Customer services and delivery drivers
