Job summary

As a Technical Expert in our Build team, youre a full stack developer who uses your expertise to ensure technical excellence in a team that develops and maintains the Integrations area of our application.

Our main technology is C# and the developers in our Integrations vertical also have exposure to/understanding of AngularJS and React.

Were fully Agile, working in two-week sprints which are managed via JIRA - with daily stand-ups and weekly retrospectives, and each vertical has a dedicated Product Owner who uses Confluence to track requirements. In addition to working with a team of developers and being approachable so that they are confident in asking for your help, you also liaise with various internal stakeholders, taking charge of the technical requirements for the function and always ensuring that theres consistency in how we design and build new features so that we continue to stay one step ahead of the competition!

About you:

* Development: You use your advanced knowledge and proven commercial experience of API security and authentication mechanisms to ensure the integrity and safety of our integrations, while making sure that they meet technical and business requirements. The delivery of well-tested, quality code at pace is a priority to you and you resolve technical blockers and promote re-use and teamwork through the wider Product team.

* Technology: Your passion for technology is clear to see, and you constantly keep up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in software development. You assess their potential impact on how we develop our application, identifying opportunities to improve our processes, and are key to the implementation of these changes.

* Inspiring: You provide technical expertise and guidance to other members of the development team, including mentoring more junior developers and using code reviews to coach them from a technical aspect. As the Technical Expert for the Integrations team, your colleagues trust and look up to you to set the standards in how they should be working. To help achieve this, you take ownership of our internal wiki, ensuring that its kept updated with relevant, well-structured and easy to read documentation.

* Collaboration: You collaborate with product owners, fellow developers and other stakeholders across the business to define development tasks, and to ensure that they are delivered on time and to a high standard, capturing technical requirements from a business perspective and communicating these back, while ensuring they match the needs of the business. Youre used to contributing to internal technical product roadmaps and collaborating with the Product team in relation to these.

* Flexibility: Youre involved in the full lifecycle from requirements analysis, design, development and support within an agile working environment, so youre able to communicate effectively on your daily and weekly task list.

* Solution design: In order to solve development problems effectively - while ensuring we use best practices and are aligned with company objectives youre able to identify, communicate and justify solution designs.

* Issue resolution: Youre able to quickly diagnose 2nd and 3rd level issues raised by our clients, liaising with the Product Experience team to prioritise and escalate problems faced. You clearly log details of recommended resolutions with an estimated fix time.

* Release management: You communicate and work effectively with the UAT team and bounce new features back and forward with the product management team, each time striving to ensure that each new feature released into production will get our customers jumping up and down with excitement when they get their hands on it!
