What you will do

As a Maintenance Chemical Technician working at the UKs largest semiconductor site here in Newport you play a vital role in our facilities team. Our fab operates on a 24-7 basis creating thousands of semiconductors each week. This role will focus on ensuring the chemical supply to a variety of high value, high power tools is always uninterrupted and safe for efficient production. You will work in a hands-on environment completing planned and non-routine maintenance on various chemical dispensing machinery and eventually gas cabinets on site.

This is a days shift pattern of 12 hour shifts over a two week rota with a 30% shift allowance.

Week 1 Sunday, Monday, Tuesday (7am-7pm)

Week 2 Saturday, Sunday, Monday Tuesday (7am-7pm)

This position is ideal for a candidate with a background in engineering / troubleshooting, or skills in working with pressurised systems.

When starting this role you will be provided with full hands-on training and will be given the opportunity to learn new skills with fully funded certifications. You will be provided with a fantastic platform for learning and development with opportunities to progress in the technical career ladder with fully funded learning.

* You will perform routine and non-routine maintenance on chemical dispending machinery

* You will ensure chemical supplies are always kept uninterrupted to prevent any tool downtime

* You will work some of the time with minimal supervision so its vital you can use your initiative and have a great work ethic

* You will also support the fab in any issues regarding chemicals on site

What you will need

For this role you will receive full training on gas management. Please see below for the skills you will need:

Essential criteria:

* A Qualification in an engineering related discipline or experience in engineering

* Troubleshooting skills

* Desire to learn and progress within chemical or gas maintenance

* Experience in working with pressurized pumps or systems

* Ability to work fixed 12 hour shifts as above

Desirable skills include:

* Chemical awareness and Handling

* Cleanroom experience

* Comprehension of gas and chemical requirements

* Worked on pressure systems

* Experience of leak checking

* IOSHH Training
