My client supplies, installs, hires and maintains critical power systems and associated equipment such as generators, UPS systems, switchgear and CHP (Combined Heat and Power). They are currently looking for a Field Service Engineer to repair, service and maintain their Diesel Generators on various sites across the Wiltshire area.
The ideal candidate base location could include Bristol, Gloucester, Wiltshire, Swindon, Bath or Cirencester.
The role of Field Service Engineer:
You will be travelling all around the UK, but primarily in your own assigned area, using your engineering skills to carry out routine servicing work on a range of generators in the range of 10Kva 2Mva size range.
This will be a mixture of scheduled service work, remedial works and reactive work where you would be the first responder to a breakdown on site.
A callout rota is also in operation, which involves you being on call out of hours circa twice a month.
Flexible with overnight stays when required - approx 1 per month (£15 extra payment per night).
All diaries are live and transparent so that you can see your future workload.
Your position would be within the Operations department, reporting to the Service Operations Manager via the Senior Service Coordinator.
Key Skills / Experience Required:
Minimum of 3 years relevant experience as a generator service engineer, or similar role
Strong practical electrical engineering knowledge of LV power generation and distribution systems
Practical knowledge of high-level software-based control systems such as Comap/Deep Sea etc (desirable)
IT skills, fluent with Outlook, Excel, & Word. Practical experience of using laptop-based bespoke engine system analysis and control programmes such as Comap PC Suite / DSE Configuration Suite etc
Gas Safe qualification (desirable)
Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification (desirable)
IEE 18th Edition Qualified (desirable)
Good communication skills with a range of individuals; customers to site operatives
Full clean UK Driving Licence (essential)
Salary and Package:
40-hour working week with regular overtime available
Salary £38,000 per annum

25 days holiday + statutory bank holidays (increases up to 30 days after 3 years service)
Saturday overtime x 1.5, Sundays / Bank holiday x 2
