Developer - Hybrid (one day in Office)
My client is a marketing and communications group with locations in Central London, London and Warrington. The group services some of the UKs largest companies across industries ranging from Travel to Finance. They work with clients across branding, creative execution, digital marketing, marketing technologies, print and call centres.
They are currently looking for a Developer to join a small team of experienced developers responsible for building and maintaining their highly configurable customer engagement SaaS. They are looking to expand their technical team to help deliver new features to meet the needs of new and existing clients.
We are looking for a candidate who is happy to take ownership of their solutions and show initiative to improve the experience across the full breadth the Group and its product. The candidate should demonstrate a passion for simplicity, new concepts and technologies and great UX for their clients.
About the role
As a member of the team, the Developer would be responsible for developing and maintaining their UI and REST components. A typical day might involve investigating and fixing a high priority issue, working with the team to improve an existing feature, brainstorming solutions, building an interface for a new part of their platform or jumping in on a client meeting to explore new requirements.
The main responsibilities of the Developer will include new and existing: -
* Angular front-end features
* AWS infrastructure components
* Back-end components such as AWS lambda functions or rest controllers within core applications
Additionally, the Developer will be responsible for: -
* Sharing and brainstorming solutions with the development team and wider business
* Helping to shape the product roadmap.
Technical Experience
The stack is built on AWS and includes NoSQL (Elasticsearch, DynamoDB, Athena), Angular, Typescript, Lambda and Java.
Developers must have 2-3 years commercial experience of: -
JavaScript and Typescript
Angular
Node.js
HTML, CSS and SCSS and a related framework
Testing frameworks
The ideal Developer will have some or all of the following skills and experience: -
A passion for learning and keeping abreast of current tech and trends.
Using bootstrap to create responsive websites.
Experience with customizing look+feel for different clients.
The ability to gain a deep understanding of requirements by asking the right questions.
Ability to spot potential issues with code and suggest improvements for maintainability and performance.
Developing single page applications (SPAs)
One or more Cloud platforms e.g., AWS, GCP
One or more version control techniques e.g., github, bitbucket
SQL and NoSQL databases
CI/CD pipelines
