Specification:

The commercial lawyer role supplement and supports the smooth running of the Commercial Department and the continued growth of the team.

As a Commercial Solicitors you will advise commercial Clients on commercial contracts, IT and IP work, shareholder agreements and company contracts in addition to the purchase and sale of businesses. You will be required to support the team and also have responsibility for your own work load.

The successful applicant will have at least 2 years PQE, however, the level identified is a guide only and does not preclude those with more or less who are applying for the role.

The post holder will also be expected to procure business leads and seize upon marketing opportunities for promotion and sustained success of the department.

Responsibilities:

Set the highest standards of Client Care and Customer Service
Provide the highest standard of legal advice
Take instructions from Clients
Drafting the necessary legal documents and contacts for each case
Researching previous cases and relevant laws so as to provide accurate advice
Communicate effectively with Clients and opposing solicitors
If necessary, represent Clients in Court
Supervise trainee solicitors and paralegals (as may be appropriate)
Manage calls from both new and existing Clients
Report to the Head of the Commercial Department in relation to the performance of their duties
Facilitate the effective running of the department on a day to day basis

Person Specification:

Must be results driven, be highly adaptable and flexible, work comfortably in a fast paced and dynamic legal environment
Set the highest standard as a fee earner
Exceptional drafting skills and demonstrate extensive knowledge of the Commercial sector
Develop and implement legal and commercially viable strategies for the business unit which align to the business objectives
Demonstrate creative talents and the ability to problem solve
Have the ability to handle multiple simultaneous tasks and meet tight deadlines
Must have excellent communication skills
Excellent time management and organisation skills
Be proactive and self-motivated
Excellent attention to detail

Qualification / Experience:

Experience of working in a corporate capacity within a fast - paced fast evolving and dynamic environment
Must have at least 2 years post qualified experience
