Job Title: Mechanical Project EngineerLocation: Hampshire
*Company will also consider more "junior" level candidates - lower salary
The Role:
Looking after commercial projects anywhere from Dorset to Central London (eg. hospitals, factories, schools).
Looking for someone in the Southampton area as the company is based in Hampshire. Large majority of projects are in London
Responsible for all Mechanical aspects of projects up the value of £1m. Projects range from £50K to £1m
Responsible for effective relationship management with clients & working partners to achieve smooth operational and commercial progression of projects
Managing subcontractors & overseeing labour levels. Company subcontracts all works out (labour & site management/supervision)
Making sure health, safety & welfare is maintained and adhered to at project/site level
Assisting the Project Manager with projects from contract signature stage, through all phases until handover to the end user
Ensuring that all related design information is correctly and fully audited to secure overall compliance
Assisting all elements of the overall commissioning process to ensure that the installations are correctly commissioned
Ensuring that complete and comprehensive records are collated and maintained covering all aspects of quality control, system/equipment testing, water treatment, commissioning and equipment maintenance
Working closely with the Quantity Surveyor for progress reports and to ensure all commercial and contractual requirements are correctly fulfilled
Attend on site meetings, as and when required
Overseeing the preparation of operation & maintenance manuals
Providing technical support and expertise to the internal project team
Managing variation costings and control with the Quantity Surveyor and main contractor
Responsible for handover to clients and after care
Working 1 day a week from the office and reporting site/projects when required. Able to work from home for rest of the time
Reporting to the Project Manager
The Company:
5+ years experience on mechanical projects UK wide (75% M/25% E)
Offices based in Ringwood, Hampshire
This company is currently at around £2-4M turnover per annum with ambitious growth plans over the next few years

The Ideal Candidate:
Will have 2+ years experience working within the mechanical sector
Will have previous experience working with commercial projects up to the value of £1m
Will hold a full driving licence
Will work well under pressure to meet deadlines
Will have excellent communication skills
Will be willing to report to the office in Ringwood once a week and travel to projects in London when required
