Job summary

Elvet Recruitment have been appointed to recruit for a Community Relations Officer to join a construction business in Leeds.

This business works across various sectors, including Highways, Flood Defence, Civils Infrastructure, Defence and Energy.

From ground investigations and flood defence to complex roads and bridges; primary schools to world class universities; ground-breaking hospitals to city centre living.

You'll be a self-starter who is happy to spend most of your time on site, working alongside fantastic project teams.

Day to day you will build and maintain relationships with project stakeholders to deliver an exceptional customer experience. As a key member of the regional team, you will be responsible for delivering activities outlined in the project communication and community engagement plan to provide appropriate and timely information to all stakeholders.

You will:

* Work closely with project managers and client customer service teams, acting as the main point of contact to facilitate resolution of all project related enquiries/complaints in a prompt and professional manner

* Co-ordinate and participate in project led community relations events - including public exhibitions, community meetings and community liaison working groups

* Identify opportunities to showcase expertise, raise profiles and build trust with the local community

* Deliver proactive community communications activity including letter drops, newsletters and
presentations to internal stakeholders, businesses, residents and schools/colleges

* Work closely with the communications team to talk positively about project

* successes and key milestones

* Carry out regular customer impact assessments to provide data/statistics that will drive future

* improvements to embed a customer led approach

* Coordinate production of photographs and videos to demonstrate project progress and achievement

* Support team with completing Customer MAP assessments for all project

You will have the following:

* Experience in marketing, public relations, communications or a related field

* Able to demonstrate track record in delivering a positive end-to-end customer experience

* Excellent communication, written and interpersonal skills

* A self starter with strong organisation skills and the ability to manage conflicting deadlines

* A clean driving licence and willingness to travel

* Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office365

* Member of CIPR and relevant qualification

* Experience of working on construction/civil engineering infrastructure projects

Salary £38,000 plus car and package
