Job Vacancy -Purchase Assistant

Contract Permanent

Working hours- Monday Friday 8:30am 5:00pm

Salary Competitive Salary

Purpose of Role:

Working with the Purchasing Manager in the purchase process, tracking metrics to reduce expenses, negotiating deals, and managing suppliers. The role primarily will be data administration, raising orders and liaising with suppliers, collaborate with relevant managers and directors.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Assists manager with Demand and shortfall planning, and communications.
Systems maintenance and reporting.
Process purchase orders for suppliers (suppliers & sub-contractors).
Builds and maintains relationships with suppliers.
Assists with OTIF (on time delivery in full).
Coordinates with manager to monitor inventory and determine supply needs.
Ensuring stock accuracy on ERP, involvement in stock cycle counts.
Help prepare weekly / monthly statistics and reporting.
Work in accordance with the quality system and processes of the company.
Coordinates with fellow team members, managers, and directors.
Adhere to the companys health and safety requirements and complete training as required.
Assist in other duties as requested.
Experience and key Skills:

Purchasing/procurement experience within a manufacturing environment would be beneficial.
Have exposure to the Microsoft Office suite and possess good SAP knowledge.
A strong willingness to learn and progress.
Be a self-starter with a "Can do" attitude.
Be creative and make your mark in the corporate world.
Able and willing to work in teams as well as alone using your own initiative.
A strong willingness to learn from the bottom up and grow with the company.
Excellent Communication & Teamwork Skills.
Impeccable time management skills.
Have an excellent Customer Focus.
Driven, able and willing to adapt.
Experience working across indirect and direct procurement.
Nurtures relationships with supplier to negotiate the best prices for the company.
Procurement technical skills including negotiation skills, contract drafting, drafting of relevant RfPs ideal.
Excellent interpersonal/influencing skills.
