Senior Software Engineer Staffordshire, UK£50-63k + benefits
This role would probably suit an engineer with at least 5 years of industry experience. A background in model-based software development would be preferred ideally focused toward mechatronics, robotics, motion control, dynamic automotive systems or similar.
This is a new opening for a senior control software engineer with a background in model based software development utilising Matlab / Simulink. The role will involve the design and development of new features and functions for the companys broad range of products and systems using Matlab / Simulink embedded C experience may also be useful.
It is a mixed position that will involve model-based development (Matlab / Simulink) as well as systems engineering activities (concept development, prototype integration and vehicle level integration). The ability to develop product requirement and software specifications from customer requirements would be very useful.
Required: Senior software engineer.
* At least 5 years of post-academic experience developing software ideally for electromechanical / mechatronic or automotive systems.
* Strong evidence of model based software development using Matlab / Simulink (academic, industrial of own projects)
* Experience of developing software for safety critical systems (e.g. automotive engine control (ECUs), powertrain, brakes, steering, gearboxes, etc) would be great.
* The ability to develop product requirement and software specifications from customer requirements would be very useful.
* Good practical engineering aptitude (e.g. getting software to work on hardware platforms, within larger electromechanical systems, etc).
Our client is looking for senior software engineer / model based control software engineer with a relevant degree to help take proof of concepts through prototype and into production ready designs. The role will involve working with senior and principal engineers on the design of embedded software and model based control software for new and future technology developments and product enhancements. Embedded C experience would be an advantage.

* Evidence of innovation and creative problem solving for relevant engineering projects would be great
* Experience gained with embedded C programming or autocode tools (e.g. Embedded Coder).
The company designs and manufacturers a range of vehicles and machinery for the construction industry. These machines include electric vehicle technologies as well as conventional powertrains, hybrid and hydrogen engines. In addition some of the products include autonomous systems, collision avoidance / ADAS systems, hydraulic control, etc. In short you can be exposed to a variety of technologies.
This senior software engineer role is based onsite and is commutable from Rocester, Stoke on Trent, Derby, Nottingham, Birmingham, Uttoxeter, Stafford, and Burton
