Job summary
Corporate Resources is actively recruiting a 1st Line Support Engineer for a network and security advisory company based in Eastleigh, Hampshire. This role is to deliver solutions into one of their strategic customers UK data centres, therefore they require someone who is highly customer-focussed, professional, proactive and autonomous. This is an entry level role as a Network & Security Support Engineer who is comfortable triaging tickets.It would be beneficial that you have an understanding of vendor technologies such as Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper, ZScaler, F5 LTM/GTM, Infoblox, and Velocloud. Any other vendor knowledge is highly advantageous and vendor training will be provided to fill in any technical gaps.
You will work as part of a team responsible for network and security infrastructure operations and support across our customers UK Data Centre Network environments, performing tasks such as dealing with network and security incidents, service requests and change requests. You will also:
Be methodical when approaching technical issues
Produce and maintain high quality technical documentation
Provide technical guidance to team mates where required
Interface professionally with external clients via telephone and email
Work flexible start times to cover customer requirements
Be on an out of hours on-call rota and cover changes
Skills Profile:
The role will enable you to develop as a Network & Security Support Engineer (Level-1 Triage) with expertise in:
Security Technologies (FW Policies/IPS/IDS/Web Filtering)
Cloud Security
Advanced Routing (OSPF, BGP, MPLS)
Switching (Layer2/3, VxLAN)
Load Balancing (SLB/GSLB)
DDI (DNS/DHCP/IPAM)
Youll be able to hit the ground running with a good level of support and implementation methodologies, and able to articulate written documentation for the same. Soft skills are also important for this role and the appropriate candidate will be proficient in the following areas:
Information gathering and document production (ticket updates and change requests)
Time management and prioritisation
