About this role:
We are currently seeking a dedicated individual for the role of Academy Living Support Worker to contribute to the planning, delivery, and recording of activities, skill development, and lifelong learning opportunities.
Reporting to the Head of Academy Living, the Academy Living Support Worker will play a vital role in facilitating high-quality vocational experiences, supporting skill development, and contributing to the overall success of Academy Living. The role involves working collaboratively with Home Managers, Key Workers, and the wider Orbis Education and Care team to ensure a positive and enriching environment for all.
Core Responsibilities:
Facilitate and deliver high-quality vocational experiences.
Network and identify vocational experiences and opportunities.
Support skill development and progression for individuals accessing Academy Living.
Implement creative projects and programs for learners.
Liaise with Home Managers to coordinate timetables.
Coach learners through portfolios, work experience, and skill development.
Ensure adult learners are working towards accredited goals in a person-centred manner.
Maintain the shop and café as a fully functioning business, including opening and closing procedures.
Order and manage supplies for the Café, involving learners in the process.
Collaborate with local employers to secure work placements for individuals.
Maintain effective communication with the Head of Academy Living, providing progress reports on each learner.
To promote Academy Living to a high standard through effective communication and recordings of each persons outcomes and attendance.Skills and Experience
Clean and full driving license.
Able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Field-based role supporting adult services across the region.
Experience in working with individuals with learning difficulties.
Knowledge of learning and development skills applicable to individuals with complex needs.
Experience in care, education, or training.
Efficacious people skills
Ability to deliver high-quality vocational experiences and workshops.
Motivational and creative.
Good computing knowledge (Microsoft Word, Excel).
Basic money management skills, including stocktaking and banking.Qualifications and Training:
QCF 3 would be advantageousSkills & Experience:
