Our client, a market leader within the Defence Maritime industry, is looking for a Project Coordinator to join their Project Department. This company is dedicated to ensuring the safety of the worlds navies through the protection of the seas. They excel in collaboration and forming partnerships with their customers to guarantee the success of missions. Their advanced solutions cover a range of revolutionary technologies, such as cutting-edge sonar, radar, expendables, signature management, and naval power systems.
In this role, you will report to the Programme Manager and play a crucial role in offering project management support during both the bid phase and contract execution. You would be creating and managing project schedules for assigned projects and bids. This encompasses forecasting headcount and cost flow, conducting critical path analysis, overseeing the completion of project tasks, monitoring costs against estimates, conducing risk reviews, and assuming responsibility for Continuous Improvement in one or more processes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Serve as the main point of contact for customers.
* Collect data to support project controls and reporting.
* Monitor the accomplishment of project tasks by regularly communicating with all members of the project team and supporting functions.
* Problem solving and negotiating priorities in the manufacturing process by participating in production planning meetings and conducting regular reviews.
* Create and summarise project plans.
* Develop work breakdown structures.
* Improve the efficiency of collaboration between engineering and manufacturing teams.
* Preparation of cost to completion analysis and reports.
* Manage small or non-technical projects to agreed cost, time, and specification objectives.
Requirements (Skills, Knowledge, and Experience):
* Engineering or Project Support/Management background.
* Written and verbal communication skills.
* Presentation skills.
* Customer and business driven.
* Team player.
* Enthusiastic, motivated, and resilient.
* Persuasive.
* Microsoft Project, Excel, and Office.
Desirable (but not essential):
* APM Level 5 (Association for Project Management) qualification is desirable but if not, training can be given to work towards the qualification.
The successful candidate will need to be eligible for the relevant security vetting level required for this role
