About the role
Technical Author who develops customer-based information to help the user navigate complex equipment.
The successful applicant will be responsible for creating clear and concise customer information to explain complex information that is easily understood, working alongside the R&D department to ensure accuracy of product descriptions.
Responsibilities
Plan, organise and develop product description, procedures, and task-based information in order to best explain how to use our products.
Produce electronic documentation in a variety of formats, best suited to the specific product, intended audience, and specific task.
Maintain a comprehensive library of existing technical literature, manage updates and revisions to technical literature.
Analyse documents to maintain continuity of style of content and bring this style to new and exciting delivery methodologies.
Meet with subject matter experts in order to ensure that specialised topics are appropriately addressed and discussed.
Help to roll out a company-wide initiative to ensure our products are as safe as possible and easily understood.
Skills Required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Skilled at prioritisation and multi-tasking when necessary.
Create, adapt, and follow project schedules and deadlines.
Ability to work independently and as an active part of a team.
A natural flare or interest in technology.
A high proficiency in one of more of the following tools, with a willingness to learn other tools as required: Adobe Creative Suite applications (such as Photoshop, Illustrator or Dreamweaver), Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe Captivate and Madcap Flare.
A working knowledge of HTML and CSS would be beneficial but not essential
