Job summary

This role is based in the Greener Futures Volunteering and Community Benefit Team and will help deliver grant programmes for businesses and communities. Grant programmes currently include ETCI A3 EV programme, rural development, energy efficiency loan programmes and business support programmes. The responsibilities of the role include-

*Responding to enquiries from businesses that are applying for funding and supporting their project applications through the process stages

*Checking information provided by businesses for completeness and accuracy

*Addressing queries and securing any missing information Supporting project applications through the process stages

*Arranging and monitoring payments to businesses

*Keeping records up to date and preparing reports

The Council is undergoing a period of unprecedented change and this role will be an important part of the ongoing transformation through maximising grant funding opportunies. Working collaboratively with the wider Greener Futures team and a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, the role will be essential to delivering programmes as part of the Greener Futures Climate Change Strategy, Surrey's Vision for 2030 and other corporate priorities.

Planning & Organising

* Undertake and coordinate projects, feasibility studies and reviews in a defined area of activity to support and enhance service delivery.

* Provide a range of specialist services advising and assisting customers in area of expertise, to maximise service quality, efficiency and continuity.

* Plan and prioritise own work activities for the months ahead, to ensure operational efficiency.

* Respond effectively to changing demands, adjusting priorities as needed.

Policy and Compliance

* Ensure personal and where appropriate team compliance with established protocols, procedures and practices.

* Audit and monitor compliance of 3 parties with organisational requirements.

People & partnerships

* May manage staff, or supervise the work of others, allocating and prioritising work and managing performance to secure efficient service delivery.

* Resolve issues/queries independently, recommend alternative solutions if unable to assist, and ensure efficient, day-to-day customer service is delivered.

Resources

* May be required to maintain specialist equipment, systems and software (or maintain knowledge of these in some roles)

* May manage or assist with budget/resource management in accordance with the organisation's policies and procedures. Analysis,

* Collate, store, record and analyse relevant data producing high quality reports, controlling data quality and integrity and recommending actions as appropriate.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

*Experience of administration

*Excellent customer service and communication skills

*Attention to detail, speed and accuracy in handling queries and information

*Able to work effectively as part of a team but also independently

*Experience of working with customers and suppliers

*Good IT skills including use of MS office (Word, Excel, database management systems)

*Willingness and ability to travel around the county, with access to a car to reach remote locations. Willingness to occasionally work evenings and/or weekend

*Interest in climate change and sustainability
