Health, Safety, and Environmental ManagerAre you a seasoned Health, Safety, and Environmental professional looking to take on a pivotal role within a dynamic and growing company? We are currently seeking a dedicated individual to join a leading organization in the infrastructure services sector.
About the Company:
Our client is a well-established player in the infrastructure services industry, comprising several specialized subsidiaries. With a focus on gas, water, and telecommunications, they are committed to delivering excellence in design, construction, and maintenance across critical national infrastructure projects. Role Overview:
As the Health, Safety, and Environmental Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and sustainability of projects across England, Scotland, and Wales. Working closely with project teams and stakeholders, you will provide expert guidance, oversee compliance with regulations, and drive a culture of safety excellence throughout the organization. Key Responsibilities:
Manage a team of SHE Advisors to support project delivery and ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.
Provide input into tender and contract processes, offering expertise on HSE matters.
Conduct travel as needed to provide on-site advice and guidance to operational teams and SHE advisors.
Act as a central point of contact for H&S matters, ensuring Construction Phase Plans are effective.
Lead accident/incident investigations and communicate learnings to prevent reoccurrence.
Champion environmental sustainability efforts and contribute to net-zero targets.
Challenge existing practices to incorporate HSE best practices without compromising business priorities.
Co-ordinate with industry stakeholders to share and implement lessons learned.
Liaise with regulatory bodies and maintain positive relationships with local authorities and agencies.
Provide expert advice on CDM regulation requirements for gas projects.
Support project representatives in understanding their SHE roles and responsibilities.
Conduct safety audits, inspections, and reviews of documentation as needed.
Provide monthly H&S data and safety statistics to Directors.
Develop internal relationships to resolve issues and identify opportunities for collaboration. Qualifications:
Diploma (or equivalent) in Health & Safety or significant relevant industry experience.
Experience in highly regulated industries such as Gas, Rail, or Power Overhead lines.
CMIOSH qualification or working towards it.
Membership of a safety or environmental professional body or engineering institute.
