Job summary

Defects /.Aftercare Manager required to work with this busy regional office of a national main contractor, to address defects on multiple projects delivered over the past 5-10 years across Salisbury Plain.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for end user / client liaison, defect inspection, issue investigation and proposed resolution, review of project contractual and design information to ascertain liability, contacting the relevant subcontractors to address the defect, planning and programming of works, arranging relevant access, method statements and risk assessments, maintain a schedule of works to complete/completed, QA, and securing retentions.

Work includes projects in the defence sector on the various garrisons which will include - accommodation, training facilities, offices, healthcare buildings, offices, vehicle and equipment stores, mess halls, etc.

About the company:

The contractor is a busy regional office of this main contractor with responsibility for the upkeep and maintenance of the buildings delivered over the past 15 years across the garrisons.

These comprise numerous buildings so there is work here for the next 15+ years.

Requirements and qualifications for this role:

The successful candidate will ideally be an experienced site manager looking for long-term work in the area - you will be motivated, proactive, demonstrating sound technical, organisational, man-management and communication skills.

Ideally from a trades, construction management or engineering background with a good eye for detail, you will also be technically / commercially minded and willing to investigate a defect thoroughly and check liability.

You will have a good investigative approach and be an effective problem solver - able to liaise with end users, supply chain, etc to address the issues and fix the problem - planning work to be undertaken and check, plus compile QA paperwork.

You will possess your SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications for this role. Current or previously held MOD security clearance would be advantageous but not essential.
