Must Haves
A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or alternative equivalent practical experience
Near Chartered or Incorporated Engineer Member of IStructE or ICE or equivalent
Significant experience within an engineering consultancy or other relevant business
Design experience in a range of civil engineering projects
Your skills profile will include a record of managing overseeing and providing guidance to more junior members of technical teams - including graduate engineers or technicians
Commercially aware with a client-focused approach to service delivery
About Our Team
Our Civil engineering team is based in our Swindon office and has developed a strong reputation for successful delivery of a broad range of projects for a well-established client base who trust us with their portfolios and projects. The team provides input to projects throughout the lifecycle from feasibility, through to planning and detailed stage design stages for new-build residential and commercial developments, with a keen eye on sustainability.
The projects we deliver range from standalone small commissions, through to major projects and supporting frameworks for ongoing delivery of public sector schemes.
Our clients are many and varied from both the private and public sector and include many of the
major UK national and regional housebuilders, local authorities, housing associations and contractors.
Job Description
You will be responsible for:
The successful technical and commercial execution of project work, including managing personnel and resources. As a Senior Engineer you will be technically competent and be a good communicator, and you will be able to develop relationships with clients and fellow professionals.
You will play a key role in defining and influencing the company culture. You will help set the tone for communication and collaboration within the team, helping to foster good levels of employee engagement, and increasing productivity and efficiency in a positive and supportive environment.
You will need to be from an engineering consultancy background with extensive experience in the residential industry with the ability to:
Prepare technical outputs to the highest standards in accordance with the clients ISO9001 quality management system.
Provide direction and technical advice to more junior project team members, taking a proactive role in developing team members to their full potential.
Develop effective teamwork within both the client and as part of a wider design team of other key stakeholders.
Contribute to the delivery of multi-disciplinary schemes (civil, structural, geo-environmental) as well as deliver all technical civil engineering services, in both cases demonstrating strong communication and client management skills.
Prepare technical and financial proposals.
Qualifications & Experience
