Role Overview
As a HV Protection and Control Engineer at Morson Projects, you will play a pivotal role in designing, analysing, writing specifications , and optimising electrical systems within the HV Power sector. Your contributions will directly impact the success of our projects, which span from critical infrastructure to groundbreaking renewable energy initiatives. Your role is instrumental in ensuring the reliability and performance of high voltage electrical systems.
Voltages covered are 6.6kV-400kV.
Key Responsibilities
* Design secondary electrical systems within the HV Power sector, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop project plans and specifications. I.e. (Civil /Primary /Secondary)
* Conduct technical evaluations and provide recommendations for system improvements.
* Help develop teams to deliver new and existing technologies to assist clients deliver cutting-edge electrical solutions.
* Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers.
* Client facing and responsible for all project deliverables from the scope of works.
Person Specification
* HNC / HND in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Degree desirable).
* A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in electrical engineering, preferably within the HV Power sector.
* Expertise in HV Power system design and optimisation including BESS and Solar connections.
* Knowledge of transmission (National Grid or DNO) HV design process and related project experience.
* Background in FEED or detailed design of high voltage installations.
* Proficiency in relevant engineering software and tools.
* Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to engineering excellence.
