JOB Specification

The Backend Technical Lead will be part of an agile development team, building and working on a range of different software systems. Youll work with .NET, Microsoft SQL, MongoDB, and Azure to develop and enhance our backend systems. You'll collaborate closely with other developers to deliver software solutions for our customers.

Acting as a team leader to the junior developers and working alongside the Frontend Technical Lead to ensure the software is fit for purpose and new features are added in a timely manner.

Duties and responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of Technology, the Backend Technical Lead will be utilising a range of backend technologies including .NET, Microsoft SQL, Entity Framework, MongoDB and Azure to create a RESTful API that can be consumed by our frontend team.

The suitable applicant will have strong experience in a range of technologies including C#, .Net, Entity framework, SQL DB and MongoDB.

Good communication skills are essential in a highly agile environment whilst a strong, natural aptitude for technology and development is required.

> Develop software solutions to agreed timescales, standards, and KPIs.

> Build on existing web development using the appropriate languages and technologies.

> Provide timely and accurate estimates for delivery of projects, BAU requests, and bugs.

> Ensure junior developers in the team are supported and have the relevant training plans.

> Work through the submitted user stories to ensure tasks are spread throughout the team and updates passed on when required.

> Take a leading role alongside the Frontend Technical Lead and Head of Technology in weekly development meetings.

Skills and experience

Essential skills / experience required:

> C#, .NET

> Entity Framework

> Web services (Web API, RESTful)

> Object Orientated Design

> GIT

> Azure/AWS

> SQL and MongoDB experience.

> HTMP

Desirable skills / experience:

> Working with junior developers to process their learning.

> Previous experience working for larger software houses

> Finding new technologies to bring into our software stack.

> Happy to communicate with internal and external stakeholders.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £40,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
